About Me!
While I've lived most of my life in the wonderful southern state of Georgia, my earliest years were spent in West Palm Beach, Florida. I was born on December 3, 1989 and was only a toddler when my family relocated to Valdosta, Georgia where I lived until I was seven years old. As a 2008 graduate of Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, I was named Salutatorian (second highest GPA) of my senior class.
For as long as I can remember, I've loved to read but for years I had my heart set on becoming a doctor. At the age of fourteen, my longtime appreciation for reading expanded to a love for writing and creating fictional stories of my own. While I was fascinated with the field of medicine (gynecology, to be exact) I never felt about it the way I do about writing. Following my passion, I made a future career change and decided that as I obtain a higher education, I will focus on subjects that will expand my command of the English language, and sharpen my skills as a writer.
Currently, I am a full-time college student, residing on the campus of the University of Georgia (go Bulldogs!) where I am a double major, with a focus on Journalism and Psychology. As an active and involved student, I am a member of UGA HEROs, an organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for children affected by and infected with HIV/AIDS; a member of the Community Service Committee, Political Action Committee (PAC), Social & Cultural Programming Committee (SCPC), Black Educational Support Team (BEST), the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and I serve on the Freshman Advisory Board of the Black Affairs Council (BAC).
